Even though we finally received a live action Justice League movie this year, there are those who’d argue that its effort was bested by what DC was doing on the television side of things, that being the latest Arrowverse crossover. And while it may take a few more viewings of both to make a definitive decision of my own, it’s impossible to deny that Crisis on Earth-X was quite the achievement.
Basically, the heroes from all four of The CW’s currently running DC shows – Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow – found themselves doing battle with their villainous doppelgangers from Earth-X, a world where the Nazis were victorious in World War II. Not only that, but this seamless four-hour event had repercussions throughout the Arrowverse, ultimately culminating with a major character death and a couple of weddings. Suffice it to say, it proved to be an instant hit with fans and was my personal favorite crossover to date.
Now, it stands to reason that some of you missed out when the event originally aired in November – but hope is not lost. If you didn’t catch it the first time around, or you don’t have The CW App, mark your calendars because the network intends on re-airing Crisis on Earth-X in a couple of weeks.
To be specific, Supergirl and Arrow‘s portions will air on Monday, January 8, with The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow following on Tuesday, January 9. And even if you aren’t entirely caught up, we’d still recommend tuning in because you’re in for a treat the likes of which is seldom seen outside the world of comic books.
