With Arrow soon coming to an end, we can’t naturally assume that every character rounding out its cast will be given an ending like Oliver Queen. Then again, he might not die during “Crisis on Infinite Earths” as we’re all expecting, so who truly knows what’s going down within the next year of broadcasting?
As such, it wouldn’t be crazy to assume that certain members of Team Arrow could find homes at other DC shows airing on The CW. Actually, this is something executive producer and current showrunner Beth Schwartz had previously teased ahead of San Diego Comic-Con, and now one of her esteemed colleagues is weighing in on the situation as well.
Here’s what consulting producer Marc Guggenheim told reporters at the recent TCA press event:
“We’re always talking about it. Like, those conversations are always being had. There is nothing that, you know, has gone so far down the road that we’ve, you know — I wouldn’t certainly not going to announce it here. But all the showrunners talk, and stuff like that comes up all the time.”
From the sound of it, we could see some heroes emigrate from Star City, but it’s hard to say if they’ll show up on other series as merely guest stars or as regulars. Then again, Legends of Tomorrow‘s foundation was built upon characters previously established on Arrow and The Flash, so you never know.
But for right now, the various producers overseeing the Arrowverse have other pressing matters, as Guggenheim continued:
“Right now, honestly, like, I think, you know, as far as Beth and the other showrunners of the shows, everyone is focused on launching their seasons, getting their season premieres finished, getting ready for the crossover. Everything sort of post-Arrow‘s life, you know, we’re going to have those conversations, but further down the road.”
I think that’s pretty understandable on their part. In other words, they’ll concern themselves with their next seasons, then reconvene. As always, it’s advised that you keep watching this space because we’ll probably pick up this thread next summer.
Arrow returns with new episodes on Tuesday, October 15th on The CW.
