Thrilling as the current season of Arrow has proven to be, fans who grew accustomed to seeing Oliver Queen flanked by other costumed heroes on the streets of Star City have probably felt like something important’s been missing. In fact, I have to admit that I’d like to see such a thing again after being spoiled in the years prior.
From the look of it, we’ll slowly but surely get there again. Don’t forget, Dinah Drake is putting her Black Canary mask back on for the upcoming Birds of Prey-inspired “Lost Canary,” and John Diggle, meanwhile, will apparently do likewise not long after.
Thanks to executive producer and showrunner Beth Schwartz, we’re able to admire the cover to episode 5×19’s teleplay. As you can see in the image found below, it reveals the title to be “Spartan,” which is certainly good news for fans of that persona.
For the most part, we’ve seen Dig in action over at ARGUS for the bulk of the season overseeing the Ghost Initiative (don’t call them the Suicide Squad anymore!) in search of the mysterious Dante. And though there was that brief resurgence of Team Arrow a few weeks ago, one can only hope that Spartan is back and here to stay.
But for more on the show’s more immediate future, be sure to check out the synopsis for March 4th’s returning episode, “Brothers & Sisters“:
DIGGLE AND LYLA DEPLOY THE GHOST INITIATIVE — After months of covertly pursuing Dante, Diggle (David Ramsey) and Lyla (guest star Audrey Marie Anderson) finally have a solid lead on the elusive terrorist, so they deploy the ARGUS Ghost Initiative to apprehend him. Meanwhile, Oliver (Stephen Amell) tries to bond with Emiko (Sea Shimooka). Marcus Stokes directed the episode written by Rebecca Bellotto & Jeane Wong (#714).
Arrow airs on Monday nights on The CW.
