Family Guy has been running since 1999, which means there’s a very good chance that a few filmmakers working on Andor watched the animated series growing up. Still, it was surprising for fans when they saw something in their favorite Star Wars show that has been a staple in the long-running cartoon sitcom.
There are certain gimmicks that Family Guy loves to repeat. Peter has an ongoing battle with a chicken. When he falls and scrapes his knee, he holds it for an obnoxiously long amount of time while making a hissing sound as he inhales and exhales an “Ahh.” Cleveland’s bathtub has fallen to the ground from the second story quite a bit. These are all the things that make the show so good, but what does any of it have to do with Andor?
Fans need to remember the times when Peter falls down the steps. He doesn’t land in different positions as most people would if they had habitually fallen down the steps at various times. No, he lands the same way in the same “dead pose” every time. During the Nakrina 5 prison break in season 1 episode 10, a guard is laid out in that exact position and some fans are scratching their heads while others are having a field day with it.
That image has spawned so much Family Guy/Andor hybrid humor that all of the commenters could be registered as fully bonafide comedians.
And just like that, another fan joins in right on time.
With a reference to the actor playing Kino Loy.
A setup for the knockout.
This next bit is a great play on an infamous conversation in Season 4, Episode 27, “Griffin Family History” when the family is stuck in the panic room while it slowly fills with water.
And the humorous reply from Chris…
Family Guy always has a way of nailing a joke and this particular one comes from an actual conversation in the Writing Room about The Godfather.
There is definitely a good bit of Star Wars in Family Guy.
In fact, the show has produced entire episodes spoofing the classic space epic, and everyone gets a part. Stewie as Darth Vader is the best.
Of course, Lois would be cast as Princess Leia.
If the Star Wars universe wants to do some crossover of Family Guy, the fans are only trying to give some great ideas. They have more than enough.
