Amazon’s mighty Greater Nazi Reich will continue to rule unabated in 2016, after the online giant confirmed that acclaimed historical drama series The Man in the High Castle will return for season 2.

Comprising another ten episodes of alternate history goodness, news of a renewal comes shortly after the show’s eye-catching debut late last month, where it quickly became the most-watched program in Amazon’s catalogue. That largely comes down to the fact that the company tested the waters for The Man in the High Castle in January of 2015, when it released the pilot, before debuting the remaining nine episodes in November.

Based on Philip K. Dick’s original work and produced by Ridley Scott, the inaugural season of Frank Spotnitz’s project followed Juliana Crain, Frank Frink, Joe Blake, John Smith and Nobusuke Tagomi circa 1962, living in a warped version of the United States that has been split into two: Japanese Pacific States and the aforementioned Greater Nazi Reich.

The Man in the High Castle also imagines a world wherein the Allies slumped to defeat during World War II when the Germans, armed with an atomic bomb of their own, seized control and became one of the leading superpowers along with the other nations under the Axis umbrella – i.e. the Japanese Empire. But will the show’s sophomore season explore more behind the Rocky Mountain States and the buffer zone they house? We hope to find out soon.

As for the record-breaking viewership, here’s the official word from Amazon Studios Vice President, Roy Price:

“We’re very proud of this outstanding series created by Frank Spotnitz, Scott Free and Isa Dick Hackett, which Amazon customers around the world have enthusiastically embraced, and we look forward to the second season. We hoped that once again bringing together the work of Phillip K. Dick and the vision of Ridley Scott — who brought us the classic film Blade Runner — would help deliver on our promise of creating some of the best television in the world for Prime customers, and we believe that it has.”

Amazon is yet to officially confirm whether the series’ leading players will reprise for The Man in the High Castle season 2, though we can surely look forward to Alexa Davalos, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Rupert Evans, and Camille Sullivan returning with Frank Spotnitz acting as showrunner once more.
