Opening with a fairytale wedding for Sarah and Tammy, Transparent season 2 will focus once again on the daily trials and tribulations of the Pfefferman family, as they navigate through their own personal battles with love, identity and each other. Adding an Academy Award-winning actress in Huston is certainly a major coup for the Amazon Prime series, and executive producer Jill Soloway believes that fans are in for a “wild” ride with season 2.

“Season two is wild! Now that the bubble wrap is off, it’s time for the whole family to transition,” said Soloway, the Emmy Award-winning creator of Transparent. “Our Pfeffermans realize they must give up their disguises, unspoken arrangements and secrets. By exploring their shared history and legacy, they come to understand that you can’t go forward without knowing where you come from. Ultimately, everyone will open their hearts, advertise their desires, and test those notoriously wobbly boundaries as each Pfefferman tries their hardest to come out – as themselves.”

Since turning heads and raising eyebrows upon its premiere on the streaming service, Amazon’s Transparent series has went from strength to strength, and it’s a testimony to the company’s confidence in the show that it’s already slated for season 3. Going off of today’s teaser, we can only imagine what the Pfeffermans will be up to by that stage.

December 11 will welcome the return of Amazon’s eccentric family when Transparent season 2 airs exclusively on Amazon Prime. Judith Light, Jay Duplass, Amy Landecker, and Girls co-star Gaby Hoffmann round out the casting list.
