Agent Carter is coming back bigger than ever, with word that the ABC comic-book drama’s sophomore run has been expanded to 10 episodes, making it two longer than the show’s previous season.

Hayley Atwell, who first portrayed the Marvel heroine in Captain America: The First Avenger, broke the news while participating in a panel at Comicpalooza in Houston, Texas, this past weekend.

Agent Carter premiered as a midseason replacement for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. back in January, holding up well in the ratings and drawing critical acclaim. The eight-episode first season focused on the character’s struggle to balance life as a secret agent with the duties of a single woman in 1940s America. Though Carter’s grief over the loss of her love, Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans), played a part in the freshman run, that’s less of a focus this second time around.

“It’s going to be set in L.A.,” Atwell teased at the panel, adding that, “And with ten episodes it’s going to be a very glamorous, dark world of 1940s Los Angeles.” That lines up with what ABC’s synopsis for the second season already told us, but it’s exciting to hear that the series is committing entirely to creating a period atmosphere. The season will reportedly find Carter taking on her most dangerous assignment as an agent for the Strategic Scientific Reserve, a tantalizing prospect given the explosive conclusion for the show’s first run.

Agent Carter will premiere in January of 2016, on ABC.
