It’s finally happened, Abbott Elementary fans – after a season and a half, you have been gratified. Janine (Quinta Brunson) and Gregory (Tyler James Williams) finally cut through the sexual tension by locking lips, and what a moment it was.

Following Janine’s episode-long efforts to cheer Gregory up, the pair found themselves a little tipsy inside an exhibit at the conference made entirely of flowers, in case the moment itself wasn’t already cute enough. Gregory takes his shot, and boy oh boy did Janine reciprocate with that lanyard pull. Needless to say, Twitter pretty much imploded as it all went down:

Of course, given the complication of Gregory being on the rebound and the drunkenness of the whole endeavor, the pair brushed it off as a one-time mistake. As the saying goes in showbusiness, always leave them wanting more. After all, what sitcom ever improves or at the very least keeps us coming back after the will-they-won’t-they couple finally gets together?

We’ll have to wait and see how the Janine and Gregory saga continues to unfold when Abbott Elementary returns at the same time next week on ABC and Hulu.
