Sweetwater, the dusty old town at the heart of HBO’s Westworld series, may be marketed as a self-contained haven where fantasies become reality. But there are times when things don’t go according to plan, often resulting in a dark series of events that stem from Dr. Robert Ford (Anthony Hopkins).
This time, it involves a missing host, a story arc that will play out in full with the premiere of “The Stray,” the third installment of Westworld‘s inaugural season. Included in the gallery above are pics of Elsie and Stubbs plotting course for the outback, while Teddy and Marti (Bojana Novakovic) make tracks in a different direction, potentially putting Dolores in a spot of bother. There’s also a chilling photo of Robert Ford musing in his office – one decorated with a collection of lifeless, downright creepy artificial faces.
Headed up by Game of Thrones standout Neil Marshall – he orchestrated wildfire chaos in the memorable “Blackwater” episode – “The Stray” features a script by Daniel T. Thomsen and series co-creator Lisa Joy, and you can get the lowdown of what to expect going into this Sunday’s episode, below.
“Elsie (Shannon Woodward) and Stubbs (Luke Hemsworth) head into the hills in pursuit of a missing host. Teddy (James Marsden) gets a new backstory, which sets him off in pursuit of a new villain, leaving Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) alone in Sweetwater. Bernard (Jeffrey Wright) investigates the origins of madness and hallucinations within the hosts. William (Jimmi Simpson) finds an attraction he’d like to pursue and drags Logan (Ben Barnes) along for the ride.”
Come Sunday, October 16, Westworld will continue with the premiere of “The Stray.” Will you be tuning in?
