These are turbulent times for Our Flag Means Death fans. Not only have they been waiting months for a premiere date, a trailer, or any update at all about season two of the show, but now they have to grapple with the worrisome task of deciphering David Jenkins’ latest message.

Recently, the series’ creator and showrunner left his Instagram followers a short note, simply stating that “it’s all gonna be okay.” While at first glance this seems like a positive and innocuous phrase, when considered alongside the lack of news about Our Flag‘s second season, it’s easy to understand why it’s raising concerns among fans, who fear there might be some trouble afoot. A quick look at the post’s comment section is enough to confirm this, as a large portion of people express their spiraling thoughts.

“To whom exactly are you addressing this David? I wasn’t worried before but now I AM,” one commenter writes. “I was doing okay until you posted this,” another chimes in, reflecting what most of the fandom is feeling right now. Over on Twitter, the situation is similar, with fans speculating that it might be months before season two graces our screens.

Max has always done a poor job of promoting its own shows, so this overwhelming silence from the network is nothing new. That said, viewers are tired, and at this point, even the smallest of messages can be taken as a clue that the Revenge crew won’t be back anytime soon. Of course, the network seemingly prioritizing other projects also doesn’t help matters.

For all we know, however, Jenkins’ message may have nothing to do with Our Flag, but if it doesn’t, at least fans can find comfort in knowing there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Everyone involved with the show is doing the best they can to bring about the reunion we’re all waiting for, so it’s likely all a matter of time.
