7 Marvel Shows That Netflix Should Make After Daredevil

Dominating cinemas with the most popular movies of the last decade just isn't enough for some people, hence Marvel's decision to expand their cinematic universe into the realm of TV. Neither Agent Carter or Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. were received as well as hoped, although I hear that S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't a complete piece of crap if you stick with it through the first few episodes. Fortunately though, if you don't have the patience for it, things look set to improve now that Marvel has struck a deal with Netflix to produce new comic book based content.

A vigilante who uses an array of weapons to track down and kill violent criminals shouldn’t be particularly difficult to nail in live action, as this premise forms the basis for many blockbusters already, yet for some reason, The Punisher has had to endure not one, but three terrible adaptations so far.

Good news though, guys: Marvel finally have the rights back to everyone’s favourite mass murderer and Netflix could be the perfect playing ground for this psychopath’s ongoing slaughter of the criminal underworld. In fact, Daredevil showrunner Steven S. DeKnight has already stated that a Punisher show could work well if given the treatment it deserves, saying that:

“Nothing would delight me more than to see the Punisher get his own show and maybe we could convince Marvel to go Hard-R rating. If any character deserves an R rating, it’s the Punisher.”

Whether you’re a fan or not, a Punisher show seems like the perfect fit for Marvel’s new take on its live action universe and if handled right, such a program could branch out and appeal to a wider demographic beyond the typical Marvel or superhero fan… if there’s actually anyone left who doesn’t fall into either bracket.
