4) Moon Knight
Let’s be honest, Moon Knight sounds like a crappy superhero. What the hell can he do? Control the tides? Glow in the dark a bit? Create ambience for horny alley cats? When Moon Knight first debuted back in 1975, he was considered by many to just be another Batman clone, using his wealth to fight crime armed with nighttime themed gadgets. As the years went by, though, more adventurous writers took it upon themselves to flesh out this former Avenger, ultimately transforming Moon Knight into one of the most unique heroes created yet by the House of Ideas.
Batman may be a bit unbalanced, but Moon Knight is full on nuts. Like, Kanye at the Grammys mental. Believing himself to be an avatar for the Egyptian god of vengeance, Marc Spector fights his own conflicting personalities all while waging his own war on crime. Whether his enhanced strength is derived from the moon god Khonsu or his own psychological instability, Moon Knight is a brutal fighter who refuses to hold back when punishing the guilty.
While there has been some mention of a potential Moon Knight show in the past, the closest fans have come to seeing him on the small screen is a brief mention of his name during the pilot episode of Blade: The Series, but fortunately for Moon Knight, he didn’t have a chance to appear before the show was justly cancelled. Perhaps that was for the best though, as a character like Moon Knight would now be a perfect fit for the street level focus Netflix has taken with the upcoming Marvel shows. A full season would enable the writers to explore Moon Knight’s damaged psyche to a deeper extent and The Defenders show will definitely look to expand its roster if successful.
