1) The Flash
No one expected The Flash to be any good. After all, The CW don’t have a solid track record when it comes to superpowers (see: Smallville), and surely the Scarlet Speedster’s abilities could never be convincingly portrayed on a television budget?
Simply put, the show looks amazing, and the quality of both the weekly and overarching stories in season one quickly established The Flash as one of the best small screen superhero adaptations to date. Embracing the comic books while simultaneously providing a fresh spin of the source material, the series went from strength to strength in its first year and promises to continue doing the same as it introduces everyone from Jay Garrick to Zoom in another action-packed season full of great twists and turns.
The upcoming movie will need to do a lot to top this…
