3) Blade
Thanks to Wesley Snipes’ portrayal in a trilogy of movies around the Millennium, Blade the vampire hunter has the honour of being the first Marvel hero to successfully transition to the big screen. If you follow the chain of events all the way back, you could even say that Blade is kind of responsible for the MCU today. Given that, it’s high time the Daywalker was brought back to our screens.
Much like Ghost Rider, the best place for this one-time movie star is the Netflix corner of the MCU. As we’ve argued before, it would make sense to explore the supernatural side of this universe going forward – and you couldn’t do that without Blade. Introducing him would be easy, too: The Defenders discover that vampires exist and are crawling all over New York, so they seek out some professional help.
As for whether this is a genuine possibility, we’ve received mixed signals. Marvel chief Kevin Feige has expressed interest in doing something with the character, but has also admitted there are no immediate plans for Blade. Let’s hope that changes soon.
