With UFC 152 right around the corner, Neil Davidson of the Canadian Press has reported via Twitter that Costa Philippou will be facing Nick Ring in November when the organization comes back to Canada for UFC 154 in Montreal.

UFC 154 will also mark the highly anticipated return of Georges St. Pierre as he defends his welterweight title against interim champion Carlos Condit.
UFC President Dana White has received criticism lately for putting together fight cards that are top heavy and only have one quality match up. While the addition of a contest between Philippou and Ring is not earth shattering news, it does show the organization’s intent to bolster its upcoming fight cards.
Both fighters have been impressive in their last few outings and are looking to break into the upper echelons of the division with a win at UFC 154. Philippou has shown flashes of greatness and has used his technical boxing skills to enter this fight with a four-fight winning streak. Nick Ring has faced some ups and downs since he entered the UFC last year, but is hoping a good showing against Costa Phillipou will allow him to steal his opponent’s momentum going into 2013.
