Twinder?! Elon Musk considers having Twitter double as a dating app

Twitter could soon double as a dating app as Elon Musk appears to seriously consider the idea.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - NOVEMBER 04: Twitter headquarters stands on 10th Street on November 4, 2022 in San Francisco, California. Twitter Inc reportedly began laying off employees across its departments on Friday as new owner Elon Musk is reportedly looking to cut around half of the company's workforce.

The bird app could double as a lovebird app in the future, thanks to a popular influencer who pitched the idea to an intrigued Elon Musk.

Twitter has been rapidly changing as the Chief Twit is making numerous adjustments to the app, many of which are designed to benefit creators who can earn ad revenue based on the number of subscribers they have and the popularity of their content. This is part of the reason why Tucker Carlson will broadcast his show directly on Twitter.

Numerous other tweaks are also happening, with Musk himself making announcements almost every other day about what’s being upgraded and what’s being introduced.

This morning, popular self-made millionaire Steven Mark Ryan, who runs the highly regarded YouTube channel Solving The Money Problem, made a mild suggestion. Ryan, who often pushes ideas that Musk heeds, has been sometimes referred to as a “Tesla influencer,” though that’s mostly because he owns some Tesla stock and often predicts what its stock value will be.

Musk follows Ryan on Twitter, and Ryan tagged him in a tweet in which he proposed the idea of having Twitter double as a dating app. He also reminded Musk that he has said he wants Twitter to be the “Everything app,” and this would only help achieve that goal.

Musk replied by stating, “Interesting idea, maybe jobs too.”

When Musk positively responds to an idea, he more often than not seriously considers it, and it seems that the next step is going to be Ryan himself making a video about how it could best be done, something he offered to do in his original tweet. Pending that video, Musk could move forward with a Twitter version of whatever your favorite dating app is. Maybe you’ll be able to float like a Bumblebee while you swipe like Tinder, though if Twitter discourse is any indication, then maybe it could be called Unhinged.

Ryan believes that it would be “10x better than conventional dating apps.”

He also added, “Twinder would be huge.”

Some people would argue that Twitter already doubles as a dating app when you consider the number of people hitting on others through DMs. Of course, not all of that is welcomed, and this dating portion of the app, as Ryan explains, would be OPT-IN.

So, as it turns out, Twitter dating could very well be in our near future, with Elon Musk making your Twitter experience a bit more lovely.
