No character within the MCU quite had an arc like Iron Man‘s Tony Stark. When we first met him he was a weapons creator and dealer with questionable morals, a playboy, egotistical, and just a bit of a douche overall. By the end of his time in the MCU, in Avengers: Endgame, we have a completely different man. Fans are now wondering whether Iron Man deserves his own statue to commemorate his heroic sacrifice against the mad Titan, Thanos.

In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, when Strange and America Chavez universe hopped to Earth-838, they came across a world where it was Doctor Strange that had made the sacrifice play, or so the people of that world thought. Because of that sacrifice, a statue was erected in his honor in front of that world’s New York Sanctum. It has led fans to wonder if Tony Stark deserves his own statue back on Earth-616.

At the end of phase three, in Spider-Man: Far from Home, and throughout phase four, we have seen plenty of murals and artwork thanking the hero for his sacrifice but have yet to see a statue in his honor. Fans are not only wondering if he deserves one but if he would want one, comparing the Tony from the first Iron Man film to the Tony from Endgame.

Some are positive that Tony would be thrilled with a statue.

One user points out that where there was already an opportunity for the heroes to get their own statue after the Battle of New York, it was instead given to the men and women who work to protect the city day in and out, without powers.

It may be that in the future we see a statue of Iron Man somewhere out there in that universe, but Tony’s true victory is that he finally gets to be at peace knowing that he did everything possible to protect his home and his family.
