Andrew Tate, who was recently placed on house arrest following a more than three-month detainment in Romania while he’s being investigated for human trafficking, shared his opinions about Donald Trump and Alex Jones in a resurfaced interview from two years ago that’s causing a stir on social media.

The interview was conducted by Andy Popescu on Popescu’s Youtube channel, a clip of which was recently shared on Twitter and gained over a million views. Some people claim that the YouTube interview had been shadowbanned. Tate was actually recently shadowbanned on Twitter, though that was lifted.

Tate’s main point?

“There’s no doubt about it — YouTube, Google, Twitter — they try their best to make everyone in the world hate Donald Trump, but they’re also denying people the information they need to make their own decisions. So, they’re in charge. And I don’t trust someone else’s opinion of the world more than I trust my opinion of the world. Let me live my life. Let me have the information. Let me make decisions based on my personal experiences. You think Donald Trump is bad. I think Donald Trump is good. So, who are you to control everything I see and try to convince me otherwise?”

Tate also stated that he believes the 2020 election, which resulted in Joe Biden being elected President, was “obviously rigged,” though the majority of the interview is about the COVID pandemic, and Tate’s criticism of various governmental mandates in response.

Popescu makes it clear that he mostly disagrees with Tate, including his opinion of Trump. However, Tate also respectfully emphasizes that it’s just his opinion, and that he hopes that YouTube doesn’t see the interview as one worth taking down out of respect for Popescu’s channel. Of course, this is also a rib at Youtube’s censorship, which at the time was under fire from numerous people, including several Black creatives who collectively sued Google, which owns the video giant, for unjust censorship on the platform.

Tate then refers to Alex Jones, who was also censored on YouTube.

“Alex Jones is a hero and he will always tell you the truth,” Tate says in the interview. His compliments to Jones are cringeworthy, especially as he further adds, “Alex Jones is a good guy of the American people who never lied.”

Jones has since been successfully sued for continuously claiming that the 2012 Sandy Hook elementary school shooting was a hoax. It’s worth noting that Tate’s comments were before that trial ever took place.

It’s possible that Andrew Tate’s mind has changed in regards to Trump, as he has not been vocal recently about his opinions of the former president, who is being arraigned today. However, there is no indication of such a change — though Tate has been more centrally focused on the goings on involving himself, considering his present extreme predicament as the investigation against him continues.
