Now that Venom 3 is officially in production, some may wonder if the threequel will acknowledge the events that transpired in Spider-Man: No Way Home. We now have an answer to that question thanks to some behind-the-scenes photos from the production happening in Cartagena, Spain.
First of all, Tom Hardy himself updated a behind-the-scenes photo on Instagram wearing an iconic NBA Golden State Warriors T-shirt and Hawaiin button-up.
In case you weren’t aware, the clothing combination is the same one Hardy wore in the end-credit scenes for Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Through the course of both of those teasers, Hardy’s Eddie Brock is transported from his dimension into that of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and then back again but not before leaving behind a bit of Venom goo in the MCU. Twitter user @Almupg80 also posted a video of Hardy sporting the T-shirt behind the scenes.
The Twitter video is tagged as being filmed in Cartagena, Spain, which is the same location a local news outlet from the area cited as taking place, according to Murcia Today. Per the report, the city was chosen for its resemblance to Mexico, which also gives us a hint at where Venom 3 will take place.
Even though Venom is a classic Spider-Man villain, he transformed into a hero in his own right as the Lethal Protector in his ’90s comics arc. This is the main angle the Venom film franchise has taken the character. In spite of Venom’s Spider-Man connection, the Hardy iteration of the character has yet to cross paths with Holland’s web-head. It’s unclear if they ever will meet each other since each character lives in a different universe and are only tangentially connected via the multiverse.
