Now – it’s no secret that Stallone built his monumental career as one of Hollywood’s biggest action stars on the back of his Rocky films, so it shouldn’t come off as too egotistical to know that a statue of the titular boxer’s likeness looms over the grounds of the estate. It’s also likely a memento that Stallone would have wanted to keep when moving day came. However, Adele had other plans.

In a recent profile with The Wall Street Journal about his family life, the topic of Adele’s purchase of Stallone’s home came up, and the fact that she wanted to hang on to the statue. Per Stallone, the statue’s presence on the estate was a dealbreaker for the “Rolling in the Deep” singer, who is currently renovating the mansion. While Stallone wanted to keep the statue, it would seem he wanted to make the sale even more:

“… She said, “That’s a no deal. That’s gonna blow the whole deal.” She wanted the statue. I like what she’s doing, she’s making it gorgeous.”

Whether Adele is simply a big Rocky fan, wanted to preserve the mansion’s history, have bragging rights, or simply enact a power play for the sake of it, we’ll probably never know. In any case, the statue now belongs to Adele. All Stallone can do now is peek at it through the fence and think; “Hello from the other side.”
