Accompanying the announcement is a new (slightly disturbing) piece of GTA V artwork depicting a bikini-clad girl on a beach holding a knock-off iPhone. With eyes that are too life-like for her cel-shaded design, and a head that doesn’t quite seem to match her body, it is an unnerving image to say the least.
Nightmarish promotional artwork aside, Rockstar founder Sam Houser stated that Grand Theft Auto V builds upon everything the studio has learned about open world game design and is their “most ambitious title in the series to date”. The game will center around the city of Los Santos and include everything from “mountaintops to the depths of the ocean”.
Pre-Orders for Grand Theft Auto V will start at retailers everywhere on November 5, 2012.
