Once upon a time, the names Sasha and Digweed were nearly synonymous with progressive house. The UK DJ/producers became famous for delivering transcendental live sets at Mansfield nightclub Renaissance for roughly a decade during the genre’s heyday, until parting ways to pursue solo careers.
If you’ve followed electronic music for longer than just a passing phase, you already understand the significance of what happened last night, March 24th: During John Digweed’s performance at his Easter Bedrock party at Ministy of Sound, Sasha joined him onstage for the duo’s first back-to-back set since the 2010 edition of Ultra Music Festival.
The set kicked off shortly after Sasha’s arrival at the iconic nightclub, and a four-minute snippet of their joint performance can be seen in the YouTube player above.
It certainly was epic. Thanks @DJJohnDigweed for having me. Was so good to play together again. Been far too long. https://t.co/DEXD0arKVW

With recent reunion performances bringing together members from the likes of Pendulum and Rabbit in the Moon, perhaps 2016 will prove to be the year of electronic music reunions. Neither Sasha nor John digweed have revealed plans to collaborate on future tracks, albums or performances, however, so at present any possible endeavors between the two artists are purely speculation.
