RL Grime has just revealed some enticing news. The producer is still hot off the release of his latest Halloween mix, in addition to his new collaboration with Skrillex and What So Not on “Waiting,” but now he’s announced that he’s gearing up to release a new album next year. Grime’s sophomore effort was hinted at earlier in the summer when he shared what appeared to be a tracklist on Snapchat, and we’re glad to finally have a new update on the record’s progress.
Speaking with Triple J in a brief new interview, the “Aurora” producer revealed his plans for the near future, casually dropping that his next album and a supporting tour should be arriving in 2017.
I’m working on an album right now that will likely be out next year, and then likely touring off that.
In addition to revealing info about the album and tour, RL Grime also discusses what goes into his annual Halloween mixes, as well as how his new collaboration “Waiting” came to be. The interview only runs for a few minutes, but there’s plenty of interesting information that surfaces in it, and fans will no doubt be excited to know a new album is on the way.
