In addition to a prequel one-shot and Free Comic Book Day offering, Archie fans have much more to look forward to when the new Riverdale ongoing series launches this spring.
Written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and some of the folks currently working on the new TV show, one can only assume that this tie-in series will expand on characters in ways its small screen counterpart may not have time for in addition to telling interesting new stories.
With comic book adaptations being the cock of the walk in both movies and TV these days, there have certainly been no shortage of tie-in books to hit the market in an attempt to satisfy fans on multiple fronts. Many cancelled series have lived on through the comic book medium such as The X-Files, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Charmed and Smallville, not to mention currently running series such as Arrow or the upcoming 24: Legacy enjoying a similar boost.
