This coming week, the battle for Raccoon City will be ignited again, with Capcom‘s impending release of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. Within its confines, fans of interactive horror will interact inside of a nightmarish storyline that takes place between the events of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. The result is a class-based experience, which delivers pulse-pounding action, as well as three unique teams.
In addition to all of the game’s previously-detailed disc-based and downloadable content, its publisher has just revealed a new (downloadable) Spec Ops mission. To succeed in this variant, players must take control of a Spec Ops team, which is tasked with fighting off opposing Umbrella Security Service members and B.O.W. creatures. It will be available for free in North America, starting April 10.

Players will enter Raccoon City as a member of a Spec Ops team deployed to determine the source of the deadly virus outbreak. On a battle field that can only exist within the terrifying Resident Evil universe, players will need to fight off the opposing team members from the Umbrella Security Service (U.S.S.) as well as zombies and B.O.W.’s to succeed in their mission. In a storyline that takes place between Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, fans of the series are sure to be pleased when they re-visit the moment Jill Valentine encounters the Nemesis.
Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City will be available in North America on March 20 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The PC version will be available on May 18.
