A 20th Century Fox press release has announced the details of the upcoming Prometheus Blu-Ray via a new trailer and a first look at the artwork.
Four months after its theatrical release and Ridley Scott’s return to the Xenomorphverse, Prometheus continues to be the subject to sever friendships and cause spittle to fly from the lips of angry fanboys. In a meta-textual twist, 20th Century Fox have paid heed to the cries of “Uhh – why would a droid bleach his hair?!” by infusing the trailer for the upcoming Blu-Ray release with the promise that “questions will be answered.”
Fox is offering two different releases of Prometheus on Blu-Ray. One is a four disc set which includes the theatrical cut of the film, the 3D theatrical cut, a digital copy and a complete set of extras. The two disc set without the 3D option will feature the theatrical cut, a digital copy but only a few of the extras.
If you want the full set of special features which includes the infamous 40 minutes of deleted scenes then even if you wish 3D would set itself on fire (which I have prayed for many times), you’re gonna have to fork out for it anyway.

One extra which excited many and appears to NOT be included is Jon Spaight’s original script. His script, Alien Harvest (of which a fan-written version circulated the web until it was debunked as a fake) was purported to have had xenomorphs aplenty and was written in the spirit that it was a definite prequel to Alien. Way back in June it was listed as one of the extras on the French Blu-Ray so phalanges crossed it makes it onto this release. But if not we can always assuage ourselves by popping in Aliens.
Prometheus hits Blu-Ray and DVD on October 9th, 2012.
