Promptly following up on rumors of a collaboration earlier in the week, Marshmello‘s joint effort with Far East Movement has arrived today. Titled “Freal Luv,” the new single sees Marshmello blending his style with the “Like A G6” producers, with vocal contributions from Tinashe and South Korean singer Chanyeol.
“Freal Luv” features a radio friendly sound indebted to Marshmello’s signature style, with bouncy bass synths and uplifting melodies. The vocal duties are handled in a revolving fashion, with Tinashe, Chanyeol and Far East Movement each providing hooks for the song. While there’s plenty of dance influence, the new single keeps the production restrained and poppy, keeping the beat with trap style rhythms that steadily roll underneath the varied vocal approach.
To coincide with the release of “Freal Luv,” Far East Movement have released a music video that features an Eastern visual motif and appearances from the group themselves. Marshmello, however, is notably absent from the video aside from a few visual references.
“Freal Love” is set to be featured on Far East Movement’s upcoming album Identity, which will drop on October 21 and will feature collaborations with Soulja Boy, No Riddim and more. You can grab the pre-order for Identity here.
