It's 2023 and nobody likes a Bantersaurus Rex anymore.

Love Island season 10 exploded out of the gates last night with a dramatic first episode that’s guaranteed to cause a lot of drama down the line. As we gradually met the new contestants we saw them react to the news that they were going to be paired up according to the votes of the public.

Molly and Mitchel instantly looked like a match made in heaven, right down to their matching bathing suits. Others perhaps not so much, and the Islanders were thrown for a loop in the closing moments when any woman who wasn’t happy with their partner was given the opportunity to leave them. Ruchee and Jess stepped forward, leaving Mehdi and George standing awkwardly behind them.

We’re with Jess on this, as her partner George has immediately been identified as the show’s villain. His entry into the villa has been overshadowed by homophobic tweets and allegations of emotional abuse from previous partners, meaning eagle eyes were trained on him for any signs of toxicity. And, well, we didn’t have to look too far to find them:

Hell, same:

It’s like a CCCP rally out there:

This is certainly a choice way to introduce yourself:

We can sense the simmering rage:

All in all the season ten islanders mostly seem like a decent bunch and we’ve already got our faves (basically Molly), so we can’t see George lasting too long. Even after knowing him for just a few hours, the other contestants seem to be picking up on some bad vibes too so we suspect some major drama will be coming this week. Time to put on the popcorn…
