We just can’t seem to get enough of The Chainsmokers these days. Now, their single “Don’t Let Me Down” with Daya has received an unlikely cover from R&B vocalist Usher.

Usher dropped his “Don’t Let Me Down” cover during a performance on BBC Radio Live Lounge, backed by an eight piece band that included back up singers, live drums, electric guitar and bass, and a horn section. The band faithfully recreates the song, opening with the familiar guitar melody from the The Chainsmokers‘ original version. The new rendition keeps things energetic in the drops with crashing percussion and brass stabs, before moving into a jazz infused middle section driven by some vocal improvisations from Usher.

Usher’s cover of “Don’t Let Me Down” is as worthy as it is surprising, bringing a jazzy vibe to the song that compliments the trap flavored sound of the original, as the “Yeah!” vocalist unleashes some top notch crooning.
