Kanye West may be putting on a front of someone who is definitely over his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian, but the leaked lyrics for a brand-new track seems to tell a different story.
The 44-year-old rapper, who now goes by Ye, has been seen out and about with his new girlfriend Julia Fox over the past several weeks. However, he is apparently still butthurt about Kardashian’s new romance with Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson. At least, that’s what we’ve gathered from a leaked upcoming track in which West raps: “God saved me from that crash / just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s ass.”
The song is a collaboration with rapper The Game called “My Life Was Never Eazy,” and the full track is expected to be released on Friday. The “crash” Ye is referring to is the nearly fatal 2002 car accident that occurred when he fell asleep at the wheel driving home from a California recording studio. West suffered a shattered jaw in the accident, which had to be wired shut while undergoing reconstructive surgery.
But the timing of the track is less than ideal, as just earlier this week West was involved in an altercation with a fan, who he allegedly punched and knocked to the ground after being asked for an autograph. Of course, Kanye always does what Kanye wants to do, common sense and reasoning be damned.
But if he’s looking to get a rise out of his ex, he may have to try harder. Kardashian has reportedly fully moved on from the marriage, according to Page Six sources, and is “feeling completely free” in her new relationship with Davidson.
“She’s not even bothered by the comparisons [to Fox],” claimed the source. “She knows that Kanye is a designer and is a visually creative person, so this has always been his love language and how he shows affection for someone he likes.”
