Jacklyn Zeman, who brought life to Bobbie Spencer in the daytime drama General Hospital, has died at the age of 70. The news was confirmed by the executive producer of the show, Frank Valentini on Twitter, and first reported by Deadline. Valentini praised Zeman for her “positive spirit,” which he said will always live on with the show’s cast and crew.

While Zeman was undoubtedly most well known for her role in General Hospital, having appeared in what was starting to near 900 episodes of the series since 1977, Zeman was also known for roles such as Sofia Madison in The Bay and Mo in Misguided. Zeman built her extensive acting resume in the late 20th century, appearing in multiple TV series and films.

Zeman was born in Englewood, New Jersey, and grew up in the state before landing a scholarship at New York University. Before starting her decades-long tenure as Bobbie Spencer, Zeman had landed a series regular role on another daytime soap, One Life to Live as Lana McClain between 1976 and 1977. She was married three times, and divorced her last spouse, Glenn Gorden, in 2007.

Needless to say, seeing as Zeman was a fixture of daytime television for over 30 years, she will be dearly missed by her friends, family, and adoring fans. No cause of death has been established as of yet. She is survived by two daughters, Cassidy and Lacey.
