About a week ago, progressive house superstar Joel Zimmerman A.K.A. deadmau5 unveiled his new stage setup for live shows – a large, geodesic LED display encapsulating the DJ booth behind which he performs. A video of the performance made its rounds throughout the EDM blogosphere, but it clearly wasn’t enough, as another one has now surfaced.
The new clip was captured during the DJ/producer’s set at Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. In addition to playing fan favorites like “Strobe,” or his work in progress (that we haven’t been able to shut up about), which goes by the working title “BLOOD FOR THE BLOODGOAT,” he also made something of a bizarre spectacle out of the performance at around 12:00 when a stage hand wearing a hot dog costume and another donning a left shark outfit carry a couch onstage for him to sit on while drinking a beer. As far as we’re concerned, though, deadmau5 has earned the right to do whatever he wants onstage.
