This weekend was a big moment for Disclosure, the UK house duo comprised of brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence. At Wild Life Festival, the duo teased a new track called “Jaded,” before unveiling the forthcoming release of their sophomore work, entitled Caracal. And during their live show at Manchester’s Parklife Festival, Disclosure played two more songs from the upcoming release, and they were captured by fans on video.
Though the video is sub-par quality, it’s enough to get us excited about the direction taken for Caracal. From what we can tell, the new album follows the tried and true formula of Disclosure’s chart-topping Settle.
The first of the two videos captures the live performance of “Hourglass” featuring Lion Babe. It packs the familiar driving bass we’ve grown to expect from Disclosure, supplemented with wavering synths and atmospheric pads to polish off the track. “Super-Ego” is the more sensual of the two songs, and it’s sure to epitomize the more lyrically driven tracks of the upcoming release. Delivered by Kwab’s slinky vocal talent, it’s low-slung record that leaves a lingering romance long after it’s over.
Scheduled to release on September 25th of this year, Caracal is promising to deliver another dose of proper UK house. Following the release, the Lawrence brothers will be venturing to the U.S. in September to play out the L.A. Sports Arena, and then heading to New York’s Madison Square Garden in October.
