Dillon Francis has already given the EDM world plenty to be excited about in recent weeks, but a Jauz collaboration certainly sweetens the deal. Since his breakout last year, the latter artist has consistently delivered unique bass house numbers and memorable remixes, establishing himself as one of the hottest new names in dance music in the process. As such, it comes as no surprise that the two camps would converge on a track as monumental as Major Lazer’s “Lean On” featuring Mø – and manage to make it even more grand in the process.
A series of fuzzy plucks usher in the lead vocal before an unexpected breakbeat gives way to a trap drop made for the festival, replete with 808 drum rolls and trumpeting synths. The syncopation of percussive elements goes through a unique progression throughout the track, denoting Jauz’ distinct influence.
Even though we’ve had our fill of “Lean On” for months now, the unique direction taken by Francis and Jauz makes for a poignant addition to both artists’ discography. Even with Francis’ album coming out in a month we’re always especially excited to see what Jauz is putting out, and he has yet to disappoint.
