After months of speculation, the documentary Daft Punk Unchained, which centers around everyone’s favorite French house robots, has finally received an English language release date. The documentary was released on French TV earlier this year, but English speaking fans were left in the dark without a subtitled version or any mention of a US release.
Daft Punk Unchained was directed by Hervé Martin Delpierre, and features rare footage, live performances, and exclusive interviews with collaborators including Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, Giorgio Morodor, Pete Tong and the duo themselves.
Unfortunately, the documentary’s foreseeable releases simply includes a premiere on Showtime that will air December 10 at 9pm EST, so now would be the time to upgrade your basic cable package. Ahead of the documentary’s stateside television debut, Daft Punk has released a trailer that features plenty of robot action, performance shots, and celebrity appearances.
With a lack of activity from Daft Punk following their acclaimed 2013 album Random Access Memories, fans will no doubt rejoice at the prospect of a new release to clamor over.
