The Chainsmokers have been on a whirlwind of success as of late that shows no signs of slowing down, as they’ve now hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time in their career. The dance music duo have been continually hitting milestones over the last year with a string of massive singles, but their latest effort with Halsey on “Closer” has proven to be their biggest release yet.
The new chart position represents a first for both Halsey and The Chainsmokers, compared to recent efforts like “Don’t Let Me Down” which peaked at the number three spot, and “Roses,” which topped out at number six.
The success of “Closer” is a major achievement not only for The Chainsmokers and Halsey, but for dance music as a whole, as it continues to gain momentum in mainstream pop.
Big things continue to brew for the EDM crossover duo, who recently unveiled a new ID during a festival appearance in Paris, and we can’t wait to see what else they’ve got in store for us in the months to come.
