While we anxiously await to see what next summer’s Batman-centric event ultimately entails, let’s just sit back and enjoy the wild ride that is Justice League vs. Suicide Squad. Featuring two superpowered teams that are headlining some of DC’s biggest major motion pictures, this mega-crossover event has so far succeeded in delivering sprawling action sequences and an enthralling story, while also including some rather unexpected villains from around the DC Universe united under one Maxwell Lord.

This is no doubt due to the writing talents of Joshua Williamson, whose star has been on the rise as of late thanks to his stellar work on titles such as The Flash and Vertigo’s Frostbite. Expect to see Jesus Merino lend his pencils to this issue as he becomes the latest in a line of top-tier artists to contribute to the mini-series. Hey, they do have a weekly schedule to keep up with.

When we last saw the Justice League, they found themselves bested by the Suicide Squad, due in no small part to Killer Frost realizing the untapped potential of her powers. As a result of this, Batman and his cohorts are now in the custody of Amanda Waller, who has come up with various contingencies for containing each Leaguer. From the preview images seen in the gallery provided above, we can deduce that it may not be long before the Dark Knight uses his fighting prowess and genius level intellect to turn the tables.

For more information on what to expect, be sure to check out the official synopsis below:

The Suicide Squad delight in showing Earth’s greatest heroes how the other side lives, and you’d better believe the Justice League needs to be restrained to hear the terrible secret Amanda Waller has to tell them.
