Baauer Teams Up With What So Not On “Ghost”

Australian vocalist Tkay Maidza just teamed up with What So Not, George Maple, and Trap lord Baauer on an awesome new collaboration titled "Ghost". The new song originally began as a venture between Maidza, Maple, and What So Not's Emoh Instead, but the three Australian artists recruited Los Angeles based producer Baauer to help round out the more dance oriented elements of the track.

The song opens with a soulful, Jazzy piano loop quickly joined by Maidza’s smooth vocals. A thundering kick drum begins to smash out a head nodding groove as spastic rap verses fill the speakers. Maidza’s vocal delivery flips back and forth from gentle singing to hard hitting rhymes, pulled forward by mid tempo dancefloor rhythms. What So Not’s ethereal melodies underscore the production, while Baauer provides “Ghost” with some much needed bass.

Penned by Maidza and Maple, the song benefits greatly from Baauer and What So Not’s musical influence, resulting in a finished product that strikes a balance between pop sensibilities and dancefloor aesthetic.
