For context, Sackhoff played the villain Leslie Jocoy also known as Amunet Black and Blacksmith. The 43 year-old actor made her debut during the show’s fourth season in 2017. While portraying the recurring role of Amunet Black over the years, Sackhoff became a fan favorite among many. Sackhoff would make her last appearance on The Flash in 2020.

Although there are limited details surrounding Sackhoff’s departure from the show, in a recent interview with The Playlist podcast, the Battlestar Galactica alum revealed that she was disappointed that she wasn’t asked to come for The Flash‘s final season despite being open to the opportunity. Sackhoff also shared that she isn’t sure why she wasn’t asked to return to the show even though her character was a fan favorite and claimed it could’ve been because she wasn’t liked by some people who worked on The Flash. She said:

“You know what – a lot of people love that character in The Flash. I was really disappointed that I didn’t get to go back and actually reprise that role. Obviously, someone over there didn’t like me that much, because I did everything short of get down on bended knee. So, they did not want my character back again. So, I tried!”

Further into the interview, when the podcast host disclosed that it was a “bummer” that Sackhoff wasn’t asked to reprise her role and mentioned that many other people could be facing the same predicament, the actress agreed. Sackhoff would elaborate she felt that could be the case for most because throughout the nine seasons of The Flash, and the many characters the show has introduced, only a few have been able to wrap up their storylines:

“Oh, I’m sure. There’s just so many seasons and so many characters to wrap up that I think that you gotta be discerning in what the story’s gonna be moving forward, for sure.”

Other characters that have made an appearance so far on The Flash is Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), Dreamer (Nicole Maines), and Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett).

The final season of The Flash is now streaming on The CW app.
