After releasing a number of impressive remixes throughout the summer for songs like Cash Cash‘s “Millionaire” with Nelly and Coldplay’s “Hymn For The Weekend,” Alan Walker is back to offer up his latest original single. Titled “Alone,” the new song sees the producer teaming up with Swedish singer and former Avicii collaborator Noonie Bao as the two deliver a pop oriented dance cut.
On “Alone,” Alan Walker crafts a unique production that showcases Bao’s angelic vocals. The song opens with an atmospheric chord progression, picking up speed as filter swept synth plucks and rising percussion work the energy upwards. The drops feature an uplifting sound, as offbeat synth stabs bounce around four on the floor drums, creating an enticing rhythm as airy vocals fill the speakers.
The music video for “Alone” touches on the song’s lyrical content, featuring a global collective of hackers aptly named “Walkers,” illustrating the theme of how technology can bring people together across great distances. It’s a fitting visual accompaniment that touches on the issue of human connection with an interesting concept.
