Guy Gardner
Think of Guy Gardner as that loudmouth uncle who likes to boast about his (supposed) achievements in life at every barbecue. He’s perpetually overcompensating for being the black sheep of the family by behaving like a giant tool and acting like he’s better than everyone else. Considering this, is it any wonder that no one wants to hang out with Guy?
In Keith Giffen’s Justice League International, Guy is represented as one of the founding members of the JLI. However, he resents Batman’s leadership of the group and challenges the Caped Crusader to a battle of fisticuffs. Naturally, the Bat knocks the smack out of him with one punch. We can honestly say it’s one of the greatest moments in comic book history and a scene that brought joy to our hearts.
Yeah, he’s done some good things over the years and he’s had a troubled past, but it still doesn’t excuse the fact that his personality is his greatest weakness. Out of all the Green Lanterns, he’s probably the least we’d like to hang out with. Heck, we’d rather chill with Sinestro than Guy.
