The long-awaited reunion of the three current members of the American rock band has just been placed on hold for a bit longer. With a tour set to take place across 24 countries, comprised of 92 upcoming concerts, the tour will eventually mark the reunion of the band for the very first time since 2014 — when the group held their last unexpected concert at the Wine Amplified Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Due to an injury by the band’s drummer, Travis Barker, the tour will begin a few months later than initially planned. Slated to start in March in St.Paul, the concerts will now commence on May 4, as per information released on the group’s website. In addition to the North American concerts’ postponement, South American fans also received bad news. They’ll have to wait even longer to reunite with the group, comprised of vocalist Mark Hoppus, guitarist/vocalist Tom DeLonge, and drummer Travis Barker. Mexico and Latin America concerts were canceled as the team works on rescheduling stops for a later date.

What happened to Travis Barker?

Despite disappointing those fans looking forward to seeing Blink-182 back in concert, its hard to argue with the reasoning behind the postponement. On Feb. 8, Barker posted to his Twitter account a recollection of his most recent finger injury, stating that he “was playing the drums at rehearsals yesterday and I smashed my finger so hard I dislocated it and tore the ligaments.”

Later that month, the musician updated fans once again with a video on his personal Instagram account. Working closely with doctors ahead of the tour, Barker captioned the video — positioned alongside his physician — with “surgery tomorrow,” and seemed hopeful for a speedy recovery. The post was met with worried fans wishing the best for the drummer, some sympathizing about any musician’s biggest fear ahead of a concert and tour happening to Barker.

Tickets for the upcoming Blink-182 tour can be found and purchased on the band’s website.
