Back in June, Skrillex began hyping an upcoming collaboration with none other than pop singer Bruno Mars. Details at the time were scant, with the “Bangarang” producer simply stating that “what we’re doing is so f–king different, awesome and next level and sounds like nothing else that’s happened before.” Now, thanks to a new interview, the recognizable DJ is offering up some fresh information about his collaboration with the singer.
Speaking with Complex, Skrillex revealed some new details about his work with Mars, stating that their collaborative efforts extend past just one song, with the producer contributing a great deal to the singer’s upcoming album.
I’m joining him for his album. Who knows if I’ll do something that’s more of a Skrillex thing with him, but he has a vision for his album, and I’m helping him produce it on some of the songs. It’s incredible. He’s my favorite songwriter to work with, and he’s the most fun guy to be in the studio with.
The same day the Complex interview went up, Bruno Mars took to Twitter to confirm that his new album is done, while revealing that the first single from the forthcoming work will arrive on Friday, October 7. It’s unclear if the first single from the album will feature Skrillex or not, but now that Mars is gearing up to release the album we can rest assured that the wait is finally drawing to a close.
