Nate Dogg was born and raised in Long Beach, California and is known for his contributions to the G-Funk era of West coast hip hop, frequently featured on hooks from artists such as Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and many many others. He got his start in a duo called 213 with Warren G and was eventually signed to Death Row in the 90’s. He released three solo albums but he was most recognized for his smooth voice and laid back personality, crooning catchy choruses to other people’s songs. He’s won four Grammy Awards for his collaborations and according to Wikipedia, Nate Dogg lent his voice to over 40 Chart singles as of 2004.

He was the go-to hook man for my youth’s soundtrack so I am deeply saddened by this loss. Hip Hop will never be the same without your voice. You will be missed.
