The lines between pop and EDM have been gradually blurring over the last few years, with a number of producers like Calvin Harris, Major Lazer and The Chainsmokers successfully crossing over into the mainstream. Following in form with the trend of dance music’s biggest producers teaming up with pop vocalists on full blown hits, Dillon Francis is putting his skills to the test on a new collaboration with Florida based vocalist Jake Miller.
“Parade” definitely has a certain Bieber-esque pop vibe to it, with gentle crooning, uplifting synth plucks and a tropical sound palette. The soothing textures and relaxed rhythms have the lighthearted appeal needed to stake out a spot on the charts, and the song certainly ranks among the most accessible material that the producer has put out to date.
Dillon Francis and Jake Miller’s collaboration is out now and was featured on the recently released Overnight EP, which can be purchased here.
