It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything new from Kygo, but the Norwegian producer is back this week with his first release since his debut album, Cloud Nine, and it comes in the form of a remix for Daft Punk and The Weeknd’s mega hit, “Starboy.

Arriving seemingly out of nowhere, with little hype or teasing beforehand, the track is another excellent effort from Kygo, mixing his typical tropical and melodic sound with the song’s hip-hop edge, making for a unique combination that doesn’t stray too far from the original, but still sounds different enough to stand on its own.

Admittedly, some of the other remixes of “Starboy” that we’ve been hearing lately have been a bit more exciting, sonically speaking, but Kygo certainly doesn’t slouch with his take on the track, offering up another solid effort to add to his growing catalogue and giving fans the chance to hear what an often fantasized about Weeknd/Kygo collab might sound like.

Take a listen to Kygo‘s remix of “Starboy” below and as always, drop us a comment letting us know what you think of it.
