Just a few days ago, we reported that MC Hammer, now King Hammer, released a diss track and video to Jay-Z in response to his lines in Kanye’s So Appalled. Well Jigga stopped by DJ Semtex’s radio show yesterday and spoke on it.

Not surprisingly, Jay shrugged it off as an overreaction. He was surprised that an already well known topic struck a nerve and didn’t realize he even said anything wrong.

The lines in question are: “And Hammer went broke so you know I’m more focused / I lost 30 mil so I spent another 30 / ‘Cause unlike Hammer 30 million can’t hurt me.

On the topic, Jay replies, “You know when I say things, I think people believe me so much that they take it a different way. It’s not like…it’s not rap anymore at that point, now it’s like a personal attack.” And after apologetically plugging his upcoming book Decoded, he even goes on to say, “He’s gonna be embarrassed. I said some really great things about him in the book and about people’s perception of him“.

Basically, as Jay puts it at the end of Ignorant Shit: “It’s only entertainment!“.
