Last November, DMX was arrested and was sentenced earlier this month to his third prison term in 2010. The New York rapper was arrested for probation violation after he was cited for use of Oxycontin without a prescription, failing to submit to a drug test, failing to participate in counseling programs, failure to make payments and driving on a suspended license.
On December 20, DMX, real name Earl Simmons, was sent to the Flamenco Mental Health Unit inside the Alahambra Prison complex. He had been spending his time at Arizona’s Tent City, notorious for its tough conditions. Judge Christine Mulleneaux, who sentenced X to a year a couple weeks ago, noted that he may suffer from bi-polar disorder or some sort of mental affliction.
Simmons’ ex-wife, Tashera Simmons, publicly claimed yesterday that the Arizona police set her ex up in a conspiracy to keep him in jail. Things aren’t looking good for the rapper.
