It’s hard to think of a time at which the dance music gods haven’t been smiling upon progressive house icon deadmau5, but that doesn’t mean that his recent releases haven’t been wowing us. With the momentum that the DJ/producer’s been building in recent months, it’s no surprise that his new stage show would be one for the books – and what he brought with him to The Governors Ball in New York City delivered and then some.
A large, geodesic hemisphere whose vertexes were connected by rods of LED lights surrounded the producer for the duration of his performance. Mixing through old material like his 2009 Rob Swire collaboration “Ghosts N Stuff” to his upcoming endeavor with Grabbitz, deadmau5 brought the audience with him on an incredible musical journey set against the backdrop of powerful visual elements.
It’s safe to assume that deadmau5‘ new stage setup will make its rounds in the months to follow, and hopefully, it will be accompanied by some more new material.
