After all these years, deadmau5 has remained one of electronic music’s most sought-after commodities. Releases aside, the Canadian progressive house virtuoso has garnered a reputation as an act not to miss – but just in case you weren’t fortunate enough to catch his set at Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Delaware, we’ve got you covered (that joke never gets old to me).
After starting off his set with an understated piano interlude, deadmau5 whipped the audience into a frenzy with tracks of his own like “Imaginary Friends” as well as those of other artists, such as Sphinx’s “Novar.” While not the most grandiose lighting array ever to accompany the ‘mau5 onstage, Firefly Music Festival’s main stage setup certainly didn’t detract from his set by any means.
The recording of the performance arrives by way of World Music Festivals, who also uploaded the performances of A$AP Rocky and Two Door Cinema Club from Firefly Music Festival.
Until deadmau5 performs his long-awaited back-to-back set with Eric Prydz at Tomorrowland Belgium next month, this might be the best of his 2016 sets, so we definitely suggest checking it out in the player above.
